Layer2 zk rollup Taiko announces the first round of grant program: grants will be issued in Taiko tokens, accounting for 0.2% of the total supply
ChainCatcher news, Layer2 zkEVM and the general zk rollup Taiko recently launched their first round of grant programs. The application deadline is August 31, and the final list will be announced within two weeks after the deadline. Additionally, Taiko mentioned that all grants will be distributed in the form of Taiko tokens, with the first round of grants accounting for 0.2% of the total token supply. This round of grant programs is open for various types of projects, and Taiko highlighted the following areas in the documentation:
- Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKP) - Circuit and prover optimization, next-generation proof systems, ZK-specific applications
- Proposer optimization
- Proposer alternative plans: Prover token economics
- Proof market
- Social/message dApps
- NFT bridging and marketplaces

It is reported that Taiko is a Layer2 Ethereum scaling solution that is building the first Ethereum-equivalent zk rollup to scale Ethereum as closely as possible in both technology and ideology. Taiko's permissionless design maximizes security, while compatibility with all Ethereum tools and code ensures a smooth development experience.
