ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, Ordinals founder Casey Rodarmor has proposed a new protocol called Runes based on the Bitcoin network, which will serve as a potential alternative to BRC20.

Casey Rodarmor stated that Runes is a protocol for fungible tokens that will not leave a large amount of "garbage UTXO" on the Bitcoin network like BRC20 tokens do.
