The Polkadot community proposed to adjust the ideal staking rate to incentivize staking in response to the upcoming unlocking of 100 million DOT
ChainCatcher news, according to PolkaWorld, on October 23, approximately 100 million DOT locked in the first Crowdloan of Polkadot will be unlocked. In response to this unlocking, and to better adapt to the future situation of Polkadot 2.0, the community has initiated Governance Proposal No. 166, which proposes to slightly increase the ideal staking rate of the Polkadot network, expected to rise from 52.5% to 60%, allowing the network to accommodate the newly entered DOT into the staking system after the unlock without reducing staking rewards.
This proposal is currently in the public voting phase, with a current approval rate of 99.4%. If the vote passes smoothly, the adjustment is expected to be implemented two days before the unlocking date.
