ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk, the Singapore police have issued a warning regarding a new type of phishing scam. This scam lures victims into connecting their WhatsApp accounts to a counterfeit phishing website through a QR code, thereby secretly granting the website owner access, taking over the victim's WhatsApp account and contacts.

Phishing scams are very common in the cryptocurrency space, as hackers can easily transfer funds anonymously. ChainCatcher reminds users to be vigilant about security precautions.
