ChainCatcher news, Aptos Labs announced that it is developing a new compiler for the smart contract language Move, called Aptos Move Compiler, which will introduce some new language features to fill the gaps in the original Move language design without compromising security.

Upcoming important features include receiver-style function calls, support for general higher-order functions, allowing developers to define custom functions, resource access control, returning global references, and adding full support for enums (Enum), among others.
