Starknet: The V0.13.0 mainnet is scheduled to launch on January 22 next year and will support STRK for transaction fee payments
ChainCatcher message, Starknet community forum releases information regarding the next versions (V0.12.3, V0.13.0) and the migration to the Sepolia testnet, specifically including:
V0.12.3 will bring a very important change, which is the deprecation of the feeder gateway; builders should migrate to API services or run a full node independently. V0.12.3 also introduces some changes to the validate of account contracts;
V0.13.0 will include a new transaction type V3. This transaction type lays the groundwork for future features on the roadmap, including paying transaction fees with STRK in addition to ETH, fee markets, paymaster, and nonce generalization; additionally, V0.13.0 will come with a new Cairo version V2.4.0, introducing string literals and basic string operations;
The planned dates for the network upgrades are as follows:
- November 19, 2023: V0.12.3 Goerli testnet;
- December 11, 2023: V0.12.3 mainnet. Please note that this is one week earlier than previously communicated;
- December 5, 2023: V0.13.0 Goerli testnet. This date may be postponed by a week to December 13 if necessary;
- January 22, 2024: V0.13.0 mainnet, pending governance vote;
- In addition to the version updates, after the deprecation of Goerli, Starknet will migrate the testnet to Sepolia. The Goerli testnet will be supported until the end of 2023, and developers are encouraged to migrate to Sepolia as soon as possible.
Starknet will begin the migration to the Sepolia testnet on November 15, 2023. At that time, full nodes, API services, SDKs, and other Starknet development tools will also begin migrating to Sepolia.
