According to multiple sources cited by The Verge, the OpenAI board is in talks with Sam Altman about returning to the company as CEO. A source close to Altman indicated that the board has in principle agreed to resign and allow Sam Altman and OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman to return.
The current board of OpenAI consists of Chief Scientist Ilya Sutskever, Quora CEO Adam D'Angelo, former GeoSim Systems CEO Tasha McCauley, and Georgetown's Strategic Director of the Center for Security and Emerging Technology Helen Toner. None of them hold equity in OpenAI.
