The legal defense team of Zhao Changpeng stated that Zhao Changpeng does not pose a flight risk

ChainCatcher news, former U.S. SEC Internet Enforcement Office Director John Reed Stark posted on the X platform, stating that Zhao Changpeng's legal team has opposed the recent motion filed by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), requesting a review of District Judge Brian A. Tsuchida's decision that allows Zhao Changpeng to return to the United Arab Emirates until sentencing.

Zhao Changpeng's legal defense team also submitted a statement that includes excerpts from the bail hearing, which preview Zhao Changpeng's "plan" to avoid imprisonment, or at least to seek a combination sentence of home confinement and minimum-security prison.

The main points of the opposition motion from Zhao Changpeng's legal defense team are------Zhao Changpeng poses no flight risk because

(1) Zhao Changpeng's actions reflect his intention to take full responsibility for his actions and comply with the court's ruling;

(2) Zhao Changpeng is a public figure with no criminal history and acknowledges committing non-violent, non-fraud offenses;

(3) Zhao Changpeng's citizenship in the UAE does not equate to a flight risk;

(4) The applicable sentencing guidelines do not encourage flight but rather prescribe severe penalties.
