The Philippines SEC takes action to block access to the Binance platform
ChainCatcher news, according to Bloomberg, the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has requested Google and Meta to prohibit the display of Binance's online advertisements to social media users in the Philippines. It also asked the National Telecommunications Commission and the Department of Information and Communications Technology to assist in blocking access to the Binance platform.
The Philippine SEC stated: "We must take responsibility. Those who act as promoters, brokers, dealers, or agents, representatives, promoters, recruiters, influencers, endorsers, and advocates for Binance, selling or persuading people to invest in its platform within the Philippines, even through online means, may face criminal detention."
