ChainCatcher news, according to The Block, the Reddit r/cryptocurrency subreddit has relinquished control over the contract of the community token Moons. This decision was made after Reddit canceled its community points program that introduced Moons. Additionally, the responsible party burned 98,000 Moons tokens from the community pool, bringing the total supply down from approximately 126 million to 83 million, including previously burned tokens.

"This is an important milestone as the community has now ensured that there will be no further changes to the Moons contract in the future," the official statement from the Reddit subreddit read. Moons tokens are part of the subreddit community points program launched by Reddit in 2020, aimed at incentivizing user participation. Reddit announced the termination of the program in October.
