Franklin Templeton CEO: Has made a small investment in cryptocurrencies, regulators will approve Bitcoin spot ETFs at the appropriate time
ChainCatcher news, Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson stated in an interview at the Fortune Global Forum that she personally holds some cryptocurrencies, such as Ethereum, Bitcoin, SushiSwap, Uniswap, etc., but they make up a small portion of her overall investment portfolio.
When asked when the first Bitcoin spot ETF would be approved, Johnson said that it is in the hands of regulators, who are working to figure out the best approach. The role of regulators is to protect consumers, and they will approve the Bitcoin spot ETF at the appropriate time.
When asked about client interest in Bitcoin spot ETFs, Johnson noted that there is clearly demand from clients for Bitcoin, and she personally believes that a spot ETF is a better way to acquire Bitcoin. However, Bitcoin also faces some challenges. It is difficult to categorize it into any one investment category. It can be both a risk asset and a safe-haven asset. Additionally, she revealed her small investment in cryptocurrencies and looked forward to other blockchain or cryptocurrency-related products that the company may launch.
