Dubai International Culinary Institute completes the world's first blockchain certification proof of concept
ChainCatcher news, the International Centre for Culinary Arts (ICCA) in Dubai has completed the world's first blockchain certification proof of concept (PoC). This PoC was developed for ICCA by EarthiD and Flexsin, with support from the HBAR Foundation, utilizing verifiable credentials (VC) and Hedera Consensus Service (HCS) to create blockchain-based certificates, ensuring the integrity of all student data, helping to reduce fraud, while bringing more credibility to their qualifications.
ICCA's new blockchain certification platform utilizes ICCA as the VC issuing transcripts, stored in a non-custodial wallet in the form of course completion certificates. Graduates can directly store the certificates in their mobile wallets and share them across all educational, business, and social platforms as immutable proof of course completion.
