OP Labs: Committed to entering the decentralized second phase, 2024 will make the security council independent from the foundation

ChainCatcher news, according to the official blog, OP Labs stated that the Optimism ecosystem's decentralization roadmap aims to reach the second phase as soon as possible, ensuring that no group of participants can "even consistently publish a state root other than code output."

In the first phase, Optimism Governance has approved a 14-member security council to manage the security of the Superchain. A key goal for 2024 is to have this security council manage the ecosystem's upgrade keys under the direction of Optimism Governance, independent of the Optimism Foundation.
