The legal fund for the defense of Tornado Cash developers has received over $350,000 in funding
According to ChainCatcher news, as reported by CoinDesk, the legal fund defending Tornado Cash developers Roman Storm and Alexey Pertsev has currently received over $350,000 in funding, with public support from former NSA employee Edward Snowden.
Previously, Storm stated on the X platform: "2024 will determine the rest of my life, to be honest, I am very scared. But I also hope this community can passionately care, please donate to my legal defense." Snowden retweeted this message, asking people for help, while adding that "privacy is not a crime."
Storm holds dual citizenship in the United States and Russia, and was arrested and placed under house arrest in Washington State after being charged with money laundering and violating sanctions in August 2023. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges and is expected to stand trial in 2024. Roman Semenov has also been charged but has not yet been arrested.
