ChainCatcher news, according to CNBC, a new criminal court document shows that Zhao Changpeng had proposed using $4.5 billion in Binance equity as collateral to return to the United States, but was denied by the judge. In a letter to Judge Richard Jones dated December 22 last year, Zhao Changpeng's lawyer stated that the valuation of Zhao's shares was based on Binance's previous round of financing two years ago. Additionally, a federal judge denied Zhao Changpeng's request to travel to the United Arab Emirates to handle hospitalization and surgery matters for an important person in his life in December 2023.
