ChainCatcher news, according to Fortune magazine, about 45 of the 100 existing employees at Solana Labs are transitioning to a new entity called Anza, to help further "decentralize" the Solana ecosystem, maintain and improve the existing infrastructure of the blockchain, and develop other applications and products.

Jed Halfon, former strategic lead and former consul general of Solana Labs, serves as the Chief Strategy Officer of Anza, along with Solana co-founder Stephen Akridge and former operations lead Amber Christensen, who have also moved to Anza. Anza is currently funded by grants from the Solana Foundation. Solana Labs holds a 13% stake in the company.

When asked whether the creation of the new legal entity is related to the increased legal scrutiny of blockchain over the past year, a spokesperson for Solana Labs insisted that the spin-off is part of a broader strategic plan.
