The Personal Information Protection Commission of South Korea is investigating Worldcoin
ChainCatcher news, the Personal Information Protection Commission of South Korea is investigating Worldcoin, which has faced complaints for scanning people's irises in exchange for cryptocurrency. Worldcoin is accused of collecting facial and iris information at ten locations in South Korea. The commission stated that it would take action against the project if violations of local privacy regulations are found.
Previously, the commission fined OpenAI 3.6 million won (2,703 USD) for ChatGPT leaking personal information of 687 South Korean citizens.
As of now, Worldcoin has not responded to requests for comments.
