BlackRock submits application to the SEC to add Bitcoin exposure to its Strategic Income Opportunities Fund

ChainCatcher news, official documents from the U.S. SEC show that BlackRock has submitted filings to the SEC for its Strategic Income Opportunities Fund (BSIIX) portfolio, seeking to add exposure to a Bitcoin ETF.

The document states: "The fund may purchase shares of exchange-traded products (ETPs) that are designed to generally reflect the performance of Bitcoin prices through direct holdings of Bitcoin (Bitcoin ETPs), including shares of Bitcoin ETPs issued and managed by BlackRock affiliates."

It is reported that the total size of the BSIIX fund has reached $36.5 billion, with a net asset total of $24.2 billion for its share class as of March 1. The fund typically invests in fixed income securities and other market sectors under specific conditions.
