The lawsuit claims that Facebook allowed Netflix to view users' private messages to customize content
ChainCatcher news, according to the Daily Mail, a lawsuit alleges that Facebook's parent company Meta reportedly allowed streaming giant Netflix to view its users' private messages for "nearly a decade" to help Netflix better tailor content for its users.
Court documents unsealed on March 23 revealed details of a major antitrust lawsuit filed against Meta last April. The class action was brought by American citizens Maximilian Klein and Sarah Grabert, accusing Netflix and Facebook of having a "special relationship," claiming that Facebook allowed Netflix "customized access" to user data. The two Silicon Valley companies also agreed to "customized partnerships and integrations" at least since 2011, which helped enhance Facebook's advertising targeting and ranking models.
