ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk, CoinMetrics data shows that the number of bitcoins held by miners has dropped to 1.794 million this week, the lowest level since November last year.
The data indicates that since November last year, the miners' holding balance has decreased by 27,000 bitcoins, which means that miners have been continuously selling off in the months leading up to the halving.
Wintermute stated that the rise in bitcoin allows miners to profit at higher prices and provides funding for equipment upgrades in preparation for the halving event.
