ChainCatcher news, the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) tweeted that it has applied to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, questioning the validity of the patent obtained by Unstoppable Domains for the open-source technology developed by ENS Labs.

ENS stated that Unstoppable Domains' patent application for ENS technology is an act of theft, and that it refuses to open-source the patent or make any irrevocable commitments.
