Two brothers arrested for attacking the Ethereum blockchain and stealing $25 million in cryptocurrency

ChainCatcher news, two brothers Anton Peraire-Bueno and James Peraire-Bueno are charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

The charges allege that they exploited a vulnerability in the Ethereum blockchain to fraudulently obtain approximately $25 million worth of cryptocurrency in just about 12 seconds.

The two have been arrested and will face trial before judges in Boston, Massachusetts, and New York.
