EU Council: Cryptocurrency companies must review 2,200 Russian entities
ChainCatcher news, according to DLNews, the EU Council has approved the 14th package of sanctions against Russia for its invasion of Ukraine in 2022. The sanctions primarily target the industrial and financial ties between Russia and Vladimir Putin's government. The measures include a ban on the resale of Russian liquefied natural gas in EU ports.
In addition, European banks are also prohibited from connecting to the Russian financial transfer system. The EU Council prohibits cryptocurrency platforms from providing transactions for any company or organization that assists Russia in replenishing its weapons supply and military technology. According to the latest EU sanctions, cryptocurrency companies must review 2,200 Russian entities.
