ChainCatcher news, Vitalik Buterin replied to a user on X regarding "What is a globally universal blockchain" stating, "A blockchain is a 'truth machine'; in a certain sense, it provides a consensus approximation of the truth about when a message was sent, but it won't tell you 'whether the moon landing was real.' This significantly reduces the attack surface of the blockchain, but it does mean we need other tools to actually perform (or assist) the latter kind of truth discovery."
