ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk, U.S. SEC lawyers oppose Coinbase's subpoena request, which seeks to search "essentially all documents related to crypto," with the SEC claiming it is breathtakingly broad.

The court documents submitted on Monday represent the latest development in the ongoing legal battle between the SEC and Coinbase. Coinbase is attempting to subpoena the SEC and its employees, including Chairman Gary Gensler, for communications and other records that may assist Coinbase in its defense against the SEC in the upcoming trial.

It is reported that the SEC filed a civil lawsuit against Coinbase last year, accusing it of operating as an unregistered securities exchange, broker, and clearing agency. The SEC also accused Coinbase of selling securities related to its equity products without registration.
