Former SEC Official: Morgan Stanley's Underwriting of Bitcoin ETF Will Subject It to Stricter Regulation
ChainCatcher news, according to Bitcoinist, former head of the SEC's Internet Enforcement Division John Reed Stark stated that Morgan Stanley's recently launched large-scale Bitcoin ETF may face stricter regulatory scrutiny.
Earlier this week, the Wall Street giant announced plans to allow its 15,000 licensed financial advisors to start marketing Bitcoin spot ETFs to clients, including BlackRock's IBIT and Fidelity's FBTC. However, this is limited to high-net-worth individuals with net assets of $1.5 million or more and a high risk tolerance.
