ChainCatcher news, Filecoin announced that it will launch the second round of the FIL-RetroPGF (Retroactive Public Goods Funding) program in the fall of 2024. This program is inspired by Optimism and aims to provide retroactive impact funding for the Filecoin ecosystem.

The first round of FIL-RetroPGF has distributed over 200,000 FIL (approximately 1 million USD) to 95 projects.

The second round will provide more funding, simplify the application, voting, and allocation processes, and improve the user experience. Funds will be distributed via Drips on the FVM. FIL-RetroPGF-2 will continue to cover multiple categories such as infrastructure, tools, education, protocol development, governance, and products, with a particular focus on Filecoin data ingress, applications that enhance usability, on-chain payment development for FVM, progress in protocol development, cross-network connection projects, and reliable tools such as high-quality RPC providers, browsers, and dashboards.
