Foreign media: Zhao Changpeng has left prison but remains in custody

ChainCatcher news, according to Decrypt, based on information from the U.S. Bureau of Prisons, Zhao Changpeng is expected to be released on September 29. However, he has been transferred this week from a minimum-security prison in Southern California to RRM Long Beach, a residential program designed to prepare inmates for reentry into society.

RRM, or the Residential Reentry Management office, is commonly referred to as a "halfway house." In other words, some Twitter users claim that the assertion that Zhao Changpeng has already been released is correct. However, he remains in the custody of the U.S. government and is not free to move about. By the end of September, Zhao Changpeng should regain his freedom and may return to Dubai to reunite with his family. Since pleading guilty last November, Zhao Changpeng has not left the United States. But even after reaching a settlement with the U.S. government, he remains one of the richest individuals in the cryptocurrency space, with a latest reported net worth of $47.7 billion.

As part of the settlement agreement, Zhao Changpeng is also prohibited from operating or managing Binance for three years. He stated that he plans to use this time to focus on education and other businesses such as passive investing.
