ChainCatcher news, according to Jinshi reports, at the recent KDDI summit, Tadao Nagasaki, CEO of OpenAI's Japan subsidiary, revealed that OpenAI's next-generation model, codenamed "GPT-Next," is expected to be 100 times more powerful than the current GPT-4 model and is planned for release later this year. The performance improvement of the GPT-Next model is attributed to its optimized architectural design and improved learning efficiency, rather than solely relying on massive computational resources.
He also revealed that OpenAI currently has fewer than 2,000 employees globally, with about half focused on AI development. OpenAI's main clients include announced companies such as Apple, Coca-Cola, and biotech giant Moderna.
