The Ethereum community has launched a new proposal EIP-7781, aimed at increasing throughput by 50%

2024-10-07 14:18:52

ChainCatcher news, according to developers, the new Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) will reduce Ethereum's block time by 33% and increase data capacity------thus improving overall throughput by 50%.

EIP-7781 was introduced by Ben Adams, co-founder of Illyriad Games, on October 5, aiming to shorten the block time on the Ethereum network from the current 12 seconds to 8 seconds, increase aggregation-based latency, and enhance the capacity of blobs (a temporary data structure used to reduce Layer 2 network fees).
