Vitalik: Moving L2 configuration on-chain will help achieve a universal lightweight client

2024-10-20 09:56:00
Collection

ChainCatcher message, Vitalik replied to a user on X, stating: "For years, I have been talking about the need for lightweight clients (L1 and L2).

I believe the solution will emerge when @NoahCitron Helios (or alternatives) creates a convenient JavaScript library to handle these things that wallets can easily import.

Additionally, it is important for the configuration (config) of L2 to be moved on-chain, as this will make it easier for lightweight client state proof verification functionality to become part of the configuration, enabling a universal L2 lightweight client."
