Ordinals founder: Version 0.21.2 fixes a major vulnerability in rune sending, users are advised to upgrade as soon as possible
ChainCatcher message, Ordinals founder Casey posted a reminder on the X platform, urging users to upgrade their ord wallets to version 0.21.2 as soon as possible. This update fixes a critical vulnerability that could lead to the accidental loss of runes due to improperly created change outputs when using the "ord wallet send" function.
Casey explained that when the input UTXO contains multiple runes (A and B), the process of sending rune A could mistakenly result in rune B being sent. This update also adds a wallet address message signing feature and fixes an issue with the display of minting progress. No reports have been received from users regarding asset losses due to this vulnerability.
