Vitalik: The Ethereum Foundation sells ETH to pay compensation to ecological developers
ChainCatcher message, Vitalik Buterin clarified on X regarding the Ethereum Foundation selling ETH: "The foundation is compensating researchers and developers responsible for the following:
- Ethereum will not spend 5 million ETH annually on proof of work;
- User fees are currently very low;
- Transactions can be completed in 30 seconds, instead of 1-30 minutes (EIP 1559)."
