Mitsubishi UFJ: If Trump is elected, the dollar may appreciate
ChainCatcher news, according to Jinshi reports, Mitsubishi UFJ analyst Derek Halpenny stated that if Republican candidate Trump wins the U.S. presidential election on November 5, the dollar and U.S. stock markets may rise, at least initially.
Trump mentioned in a media interview last week that the risk of him raising tariffs faster than during his first presidential term is higher. However, the nearly 4% increase in the dollar in October indicates that this has already been priced in, which may limit the dollar's gains. If Trump wins, the euro against the dollar may fall below 1.0500, but will still remain above parity.
