Last night, the privacy-preserving computing network Nillion announced the completion of a new round of financing of $25 million, led by Hack VC, with participation from Arbitrum, Worldcoin, Sei, and a number of venture capitalists and angel investors. To date, its total financing has exceeded $50 million.

Nillion's supporters include venture capital firms such as Hack VC, Distributed Global, and Hashkey. Angel investors include KOLs such as Ansem, Arthur Hayes, and Meltem Demirors, as well as leaders from projects like Worldcoin, Injective, and Sei.

As a community member commented, "I remember the first time I saw Nillion was at the end of 2022 during the deep bear market when BTC had dropped to around $16,000. I saw the news pop up saying Nillion had secured $20 million in financing, and I thought it was remarkable that Nillion could still secure funding in this market and was willing to build in Web3."

Below, Odaily Planet Daily will provide an overview of the high-funding Nillion project and early participation opportunities.

Nillion Project Overview

Nillion is dedicated to building the next generation of Web3 infrastructure through a new cryptographic technology called Nil Message Compute. This technology aims to create a future where high-value data is protected through decentralized and privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) such as secure multi-party computation (MPC) and homomorphic encryption. Nillion is moving towards a world where data privacy can be seamlessly integrated into developer applications.

The highlight of Nillion's technology is Blind Computation, which allows for the secure processing of sensitive data without revealing its content, enabling the creation of new private data application ecosystems across all sectors. This infrastructure provides private data storage and computation for AI agents, data markets, private DeFi, healthcare analytics, and more.

Interaction Guide

As early as June this year, Nillion launched its incentive testnet (Coordination Layer testnet) and kicked off Phase 1: Genesis Sprint, but the interactive tasks for the testnet have ended. Currently, on one hand, you can leave messages in the official Discord (link: https://discord.gg/nillionnetwork) for regular small events; on the other hand, the interactions available include: blind computation staking and validator nodes.

Blind Computation Staking

Interactive website: https://verifier.nillion.com/

STEP 1. After entering the interactive website, connect your Keplr wallet (click here for the Google Play download link) and MetaMask wallet.

STEP 2. Click on "Secrets" and add four basic pieces of information.

Regarding how to obtain the Nillion wallet address, first open the Keplr wallet, click on "Manage Chain Visibility," add the Nillion testnet, and find the testnet address. The specific operation is illustrated below:

STEP 3. Click on "STAKE ETH," enter the amount of ETH to stake, and confirm (minimum stake is 0.05 ETH).

Validator Nodes

Interactive website: https://verifier.nillion.com/

STEP 1. After entering the interactive website, connect your Keplr wallet (click here for the Google Play download link) and MetaMask wallet, and click on "Verifier."

STEP 2. Select the corresponding host operating system and follow the prompts (detailed operation tutorials can be found in the official developer manual, link: https://docs.nillion.com/quickstart-install).

The test coin claiming website is: https://faucet.testnet.nillion.com/, where you can enter your Nillion testnet address and complete the relevant verification to claim.

Finally, DUNE data shows that there are currently over 1,100 independent addresses participating in blind computation, with nearly 100 ETH staked; the number of independent addresses participating in validator nodes is 15,287, with 1,040.22 ETH staked. It can be seen that participation is still in the early stages and is worth close attention.
