The canton of Bern in Switzerland approves research on utilizing excess energy for Bitcoin mining

ChainCatcher news, the Bernese Cantonal Parliament in Switzerland has passed a proposal to study Bitcoin mining as a method to utilize excess energy and stabilize the power grid.

The parliament will conduct a feasibility study to assess energy availability, environmental impact, and regulatory issues. Supporters state that Bitcoin mining can attract investment, create jobs, and promote the development of renewable energy.
