Data: The number of active addresses on Ethereum Layer 2 reached 10.18 million this week, close to the historical high

ChainCatcher news, Onchain Insights research director Leon Waidmann released data showing that the Ethereum Layer 2 ecosystem is off to a strong start in 2025.

This week, the number of active addresses reached 10.18 million, a month-on-month increase of 6.84%, approaching historical highs. The transaction volume currently processed by Layer 2 networks has reached 5.19 times that of the Ethereum mainnet.
