Douyin Vice President: Having overseas IP does not mean being an overseas registered user, over 10,000 counterfeit foreign user accounts have been dealt with

ChainCatcher news, according to Jinshi reports, there are claims that a large number of user videos displaying IP locations as the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, Thailand, and other places can currently be found on Douyin. In response, Li Liang, Vice President of Douyin Group, stated that having an overseas IP does not mean being an overseas registered user.

"Additionally, we have found that many people are taking advantage of this situation, copying videos to impersonate foreign users, especially some black market groups trying to gain followers and maintain accounts. These accounts are somewhat difficult to identify, and we have been actively addressing this issue over the past few days, having already dealt with more than 10,000 accounts impersonating foreign users."
