Barstool founder reveals new details about LIBRA issuance, stating that 6 million tokens have been returned to the project's founders

ChainCatcher news, Bartool Sports founder Dave Portnoy revealed new details about the launch of the LIBRA token project, which has put Argentine President Javier Milei in a difficult position and sparked calls from political opponents for impeachment proceedings. Portnoy stated on X Space on Sunday that he is prepared to join the project as an advisor and purchased tokens at the project's launch, but later returned approximately 6 million tokens after project advisor Hayden Davis told him not to disclose the gift.

Before the X Space event, Davis released his own account of the incident on Saturday night. Davis posted a video and a statement on X to defend his actions and announced that he would use funds collected from "fees, liquidity mining, and other actions" to buy back and destroy the tokens.
