ChainCatcher news, Bartool Sports founder Dave Portnoy revealed new details about the launch of the LIBRA token project, which has put Argentine President Javier Milei in a difficult position and sparked calls from political opponents for impeachment proceedings. Portnoy stated on X Space on Sunday that he is prepared to join the project as an advisor and purchased tokens at the project's launch, but later returned approximately 6 million tokens after project advisor Hayden Davis told him not to disclose the gift.

Before the X Space event, Davis released his own account of the incident on Saturday night. Davis posted a video and a statement on X to defend his actions and announced that he would use funds collected from "fees, liquidity mining, and other actions" to buy back and destroy the tokens.
