Trump: May Extend Deadline for TikTok "Sell or Be Banned" Law Again
ChainCatcher news, according to Jinshi Data, U.S. President Trump stated on March 6 local time that if a deal is not reached by April 5, he "very likely" will extend the deadline for the sale of the social video app TikTok.
Trump said, "There are many people interested in TikTok," "Now we have at least another month, so we don't need an extension." At the same time, Trump indicated that he is willing to extend the deadline if necessary.
In January of this year, after being elected President of the United States, Trump signed an executive order requiring the short video social media platform TikTok to be "banned if not sold," which will not be enforced for the next 75 days. This also means that the enforcement deadline for the TikTok "banned if not sold" law has been postponed to April 5.
