Binance Charity, in collaboration with Zhao Changpeng, donated 1.5 million USD to users affected by the earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand

ChainCatcher news, according to official sources, Binance Charity and Binance founder and former CEO Zhao Changpeng have jointly launched a donation initiative. This initiative will donate $1.5 million worth of BNB to users confirmed to reside in areas affected by the earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand, to support local relief efforts.

The identity verification of the donation recipients will be based on users' KYC or POA information. Eligible users must complete KYC or POA certification by March 31, 2025, and will subsequently receive the corresponding BNB token vouchers through the rewards center by April 14, 2025.

Binance CEO Richard Teng stated, "We are deeply saddened by the devastating earthquake that has occurred in Myanmar, Thailand, and surrounding areas. We pray for the victims, their families, and all those affected by this disaster. Binance stands in solidarity with the community, and we hope our efforts can bring some comfort and assistance during this difficult time."
