Telegram founder: French media claims that Telegram is forced to comply with European rules is false reporting
ChainCatcher news, Telegram founder Pavel Durov stated in a post on his personal channel: "French media reported that my detention in France last summer ultimately forced Telegram to comply with European rules. This is purely fabricated.
Telegram has always complied with EU laws. After last August, the French police sent requests to Telegram in accordance with the EU's Digital Services Act, and the French court obtained the IP addresses of criminal suspects from Telegram long before I was detained in France."
