ChainCatcher news, according to Bitcoin.com, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior has officially declared cryptocurrency mining as an illegal activity. The announcement stated that cryptocurrency mining violates multiple laws, including the 1970 Amendment No. 31 of the Penal Code, and places immense pressure on the national power infrastructure.

The Ministry emphasized that unauthorized mining activities lead to excessive energy consumption, increase the load on the public network, and may cause power outages, affecting the supply of essential services in residential, commercial, and industrial areas. The department has collaborated with several government agencies, including the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, to demand that relevant entities promptly adjust their compliance status; otherwise, necessary legal measures will be taken to transfer offenders to the relevant investigative authorities.
