ChainCatcher news, according to The Verge, Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers in the Epic Games vs. Apple case ruled that Apple cannot charge fees for purchases made outside of the app, and this ruling is effective immediately. It prohibits the company from restricting developers from directing users to make purchases outside of the app. Apple stated that it will appeal the ruling. Epic Games will relist "Fortnite" on the U.S. App Store "next week."

Additionally, according to Apple's developer announcement, the App Review Guidelines have been updated to comply with the U.S. court's ruling regarding buttons, external links, and other calls to action within apps. Guideline 3.1.1 states that apps can use in-app purchase features to sell and offer services related to non-fungible tokens (NFTs), such as minting, listing, and transferring. Apps must not include buttons, external links, or other calls to action that direct users to purchase mechanisms outside of in-app purchases, except for apps in the U.S. store.

Crossmint, a cryptocurrency API development company, commented that this ruling is significant for cryptocurrency: applications can now directly sell NFTs, tokens, and digital assets while retaining 100% of the revenue.
