According to ChainCatcher, as reported by Beincrypto, streaming giant Netflix is planning to produce a movie based on the 2022 FTX collapse, which is currently in the crucial casting stage.

Emmy Award winner Julia Garner is expected to play the convicted former CEO of Alameda Research, Caroline Ellison, while "Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story" star Evan Peters may portray Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF). Oscar-winning screenwriter Graham Moore is in talks to take on the writing duties.

The film is said to frame its narrative around a love story, recreating how this cryptocurrency empire, once valued at $32 billion, collapsed in just two weeks. If Garner confirms her role, it will mark her second portrayal of a financial fraud case protagonist after "Inventing Anna."

Industry insiders point out that the project is still in the early development stage, and about 60% of the scripts greenlit in Hollywood each year ultimately do not get produced.
