Cryptocurrency custody company BitGo has obtained a MiCA license in Germany

ChainCatcher news, BitGo, a cryptocurrency custody company backed by Goldman Sachs, has become the latest cryptocurrency company to receive regulatory approval to operate in the European Union.

The company announced on May 12 that the German financial regulator, the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), granted BitGo Europe a license under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) to provide digital asset services in the EU. The new license allows BitGo to offer services to both crypto-native companies and traditional financial institutions, including banks and asset management companies within the EU.
