Data: Aave TVL surpasses $40 billion, setting a new historical high for DeFi lending platforms
ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, the DeFi lending protocol Aave announced that its total locked value (TVL) has reached a historic high of $40.3 billion, with the latest version Aave v3 contributing approximately $40 billion. Data shows that this figure has increased by nearly 170% from 6 million ETH (about $15 billion) at the beginning of 2025, primarily driven by the rise in Ethereum's price from $1,500 to $2,500.
Currently, Ethereum and its derivatives account for nearly 50% of Aave's TVL, while the platform's native token AAVE has also risen 25% over the past week to $220.42.
