ZKsync and Matter Labs' official X account was hacked, and the hacker spread false SEC investigation information
ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, the Ethereum Layer 2 network ZKsync and its development company Matter Labs' official X account were hacked, with the attacker posting false statements claiming that the platform is under investigation by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Matter Labs confirmed that this information is false and has regained control of the account.
As a result, the platform's token ZK briefly fell 2% to $0.07158. This is the second security incident for the platform in four months, following a token theft incident worth approximately $5 million in April. Company investigations indicate that this intrusion may have been carried out through a vulnerability in third-party delegated account permissions. Currently, the ZK price has retraced 6.4% from a 38.5% increase over the previous week.
