ChainCatcher news, Chainalysis CEO Jonathan Levin pointed out at the 2025 Consensus crypto conference that recent kidnappings targeting individuals in the crypto industry and their families in Paris stem from a misunderstanding by criminal organizations regarding the traceability of cryptocurrencies.
Levin stated that although law enforcement has made significant progress in tracking stolen funds and crypto ransom payments, leading to numerous arrests, some criminal organizations still mistakenly believe that cryptocurrencies are untraceable, which has led to these criminal acts.
