Morgan Stanley: The dollar may depreciate another 6% this year
ChainCatcher news, according to Jin10 data reports, Morgan Stanley Investment Management's Chief Investment Officer Jitania Kandhari stated that the dollar's recovery at the beginning of this week is a "counter-trend rebound," while its fundamentals still point to a decline. "This is a counter-trend rebound, but the long-term fundamentals still indicate that the dollar will further decline, possibly depreciating another 6% this year."
U.S. investors need time to diversify away from domestic assets, as "there is a serious home bias among U.S. investors," but the clients she has interacted with are actively inquiring about opportunities in other parts of the world. She is currently optimistic about the euro, yen, and emerging market currencies.
